Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 2, 2026
GapWatch ("we", "us") is an iOS application and website that provides market-structure education and gap-detection tools. This policy describes what data we collect and how we use it.
What we collect
- Account data. When you create an account we collect your email address, handled by Google Firebase Authentication. Passwords are managed by Firebase and are never visible to us.
- App data. Your watchlist symbols, alert preferences, and alert history are stored in Google Cloud Firestore so they follow your account across devices.
- Push tokens. If you enable notifications, we store your device's push token to deliver alerts via Firebase Cloud Messaging and Apple Push Notification service.
- Subscription status. Purchases are processed entirely by Apple. We receive and store only a subscription status and an anonymous Apple transaction identifier — never your payment details.
What we don't do
- We do not sell or rent your personal data to anyone.
- We do not run third-party advertising or advertising trackers.
- We do not send your personal data to our market-data or AI providers. Market data requests and AI briefing generation contain no user-identifying information.
Service providers
We rely on Google Firebase (authentication, database, push relay), Google Cloud (hosting), Apple (payments and push delivery), Alpaca Markets (market data), and Anthropic (AI briefing generation). Each processes data only as needed to provide the service.
Data retention and deletion
Your data is retained while your account exists. To delete your account and all associated data, email support@gapwatch.app from your account email — deletion is completed within 30 days.
Not financial advice
GapWatch provides market-structure education and information only. It does not provide investment advice, and nothing in the app or on this site is a recommendation to buy or sell any security.
Changes and contact
We will update this page when the policy changes. Questions: support@gapwatch.app.
